I'm not really a Conservative.
Seems important to point that out, since there's a sign on my lawn for the local Tory candidate. Well, the really nice lady that lives next door has worked for the Conservatives for years-and she's really hard to say "no" to. Besides, she got me jobs with Elections Canada in the past when I wasn't working and needed some cash. Soooooo, my front lawn has blue and white on it. And I used to get Christmas cards from the local MP, since I did some clerical work a few years ago. It would be kind of embarrassing now if he found out I've never voted for him....
Of course, I have no idea what colours should be out there. There's an election coming up and as usual, I haven't a clue who to vote for. My usual method is to list all the reasons for not voting for various parties and see if there's anyone left. Then I go over the reasons for not voting and try and find the one I can live with the best. Sorta pessimistic, isn't it? :D
It's an extra problem when I've actually met the candidates. What do I do when I personally like someone and think that they will do a good job, but don't agree with their party? Put my riding over the province?
I solved one dilemma by voting for the Natural Law party. Hey, if they really could have had 7 000 yogic fliers protecting Canada and creating an atmosphere of health and well being so we could spend less on health care, that would have been pretty good! At least they had Doug Henning promising to "make the deficit *snap* disappear!". Prime Minister Henning. That would have rocked....

Oh thank god! lol I was wondering about that. :D Anything but conservative! lol
When in doubt, vote orange. :D That's my rule. They're so down the middle-left, and they're not likely to win, so while it may be a wasted vote in terms of numbers, it's not in terms of jabbing the Libs and Cons where it hurts. :D
The local NDP candidate is certainly my favourite, but I have horrible memories of the Bob Rae years in Ontario.
