Bear is working crazy overtime (again!) and he's up and ready to go before I get home from the store. So, if I had waited to make the soup until I got home, he wouldn't get any until tomorrow morning. And thus I was peeling and chopping early this morning, so that my beloved can have a nice hearty meal before working a 12 hour shift.
When I was chatting with Prin recently the subject of grand gestures of love came up. I rather think it's the little ones like this that count. It's not that I don't appreciate the grand ones-I love them! Bear came home from the Farmer's Market in Hamilton one day with a big bunch of long stemmed roses for me-one of every colour that the seller had-because he knows how much I love roses. As a matter of fact, I got flowers every payday because he had to pass by the market on the way home. Usually, it was a double bunch of stargazer lilies

because the first time he brought me flowers that's what they were. But he liked to change it up now and again to surprise me, and the roses blew me away. Every time we're in Hamilton now (since we're hours away) we go to the market so that he can get me some stargazers, though.
So I guess that the flowers are an example of both types of gesture. The huge bouquets are grand; remembering how much I love roses, especially unusual colours, is a thoughtful little thing.
I'm convinced that it's the little courtesies and kindnesses that make a relationship work and last. Remembering what the other person likes and dislikes, offering to make a cup of tea, asking if they want something from the kitchen because you're going there...things that say "I'm thinking about you and your needs and comfort are important to me."
And that's why I have orange hands. Because I love him!

One day I'll bring flowers to my woman. One day.
Find out what kind she likes first, and then go over the top a bit. Or a lot. :)
Hmm. I think I need a perspective redirection.

*blushes* If I had any of those, I'd consider them grand gestures.
Sigh. :(
Awwww! :(
You need to find people to treat you well. You really do. (hugs)
Yep, gotta say I totally agree. Those little things are the glue that more than makes up for all the other little things that drive us nuts!
lol, yeah-like not putting Cheese Whiz in the fridge!
