Rainy days and Mondays

Fall decided to come back today. It's cold and drizzly out there. Brrrr! At least I've got lots of turkey leftovers to help.

I should go over to the store today and lurk in the basement with all the new books. And my kid needs chemistry help. Of course, there's laundry to do. So much for a holiday, lol!

Dancer brought me a nice gift last night. It was small, brown and white and had a furry tail-and it was still alive! Good thing I'm not afraid of mice. *rolls eyes* I felt kind of bad for Dancer; she was so proud and happy, running over to me, trilling around the tail hanging out of her mouth. So I scooped her up quickly, trying to save the mouse (and stop her from eating it) and she dropped it. Poor little thing was laying on the floor with its back leg twitching. :( I figured it was a goner and took Dancer to my kid's room to shut her in, then turned around to administer mercy to the mouse. Crap! Apparently, it was only stunned.

So I'm on my hands and knees with a flashlight, looking under all my bedroom furniture for a potentially injured mouse while Dancer is scratching to get out of the kid's room and help and I'm swearing a blue streak, hoping I'm not going to have to kill the poor little mouse but also laughing my ass off at how silly I must have looked.

Never did find the little varmint. :) I didn't sleep very well, though. I kept thinking Dancer was going to drop the mouse on my head in the middle of the night. Or chase it over top of me.

Nothing spells sleepless night like wondering if you're going to be in the live action version of Tom and Jerry, or worse, Itchy and Scratchy.

LOL!! Dancer. What a cutie. :D

It's bleddy cold today all of a sudden. WHAM! It's fall!

I know! I don't blame the mice for coming inside; I just don't want 'em in the kitchen, and I don't want the furry kids to snack on 'em.

It's good to know that middle age hasn't slowed Dancer down, though. :) She caught it on the floor in front of the cabinets.

I'm just not ready to turn the boiler on yet. Feels like I'm going to have to, though. Even the dogs want to be under blankets instead of on top of them.

Yeah, I refuse to turn on the baseboard heaters yet... There's always that nasty burnt dust smell the first day they're on and that won't be today. :D

LOL, poor you! And poor Dancer... losing his prize mouse because of evil mommy :-p

At least you're on holiday today... I had to WORK! *eek*

Angel, I should have worked but I slacked off and had a nap on the couch with the dogs instead. :)

I know, Prin-our radiators are hot water but they still have that hot dust smell at first no matter how much they're vacuumed. Ick!

Monday and Tuesday were called on count of migraine.

No big drama this time, I promise. Nothing but plain old migraine.

Thanks, though. It's nice to know someone would notice if I disappeared. *blush*
