I've been wondering what I'm going to do with my windows next Thursday, when all the Hallowe'en stuff goes away (in theory; I'm a notorious procrastinator *blushes*).
I got it! I have plenty of books about the wars. Remembrance Day is coming up, too. Perfect.
Now there's a nice way to decorate-in tribute to those who have given their lives to protect others. Whether I believe in the reasons behind any conflict or not, I have nothing but admiration for those who are willing to lay down their lives for their country.
Too bad politicians don't always seem to respect that sacrifice.

Amen to that. I keep my poppies in my car all year round because Rememberance Day is every day. :)
Ditto. I may not support the war, but I have nothing but respect and admiration for our U.S. troops. Great idea!
That's actually an excellent idea - love it! if you can throw in a vintage helmet, army boot or backpack, something tangible... wow.

TD-that is a great idea! I'll see what I can find. My neighbours both served in the armed forces; they probably have something I could borrow.
Great idea! My brother-in-law just returned from Afghanistan. I know they totally appreciate any and all support of our troops past and present.
You could even consider contacting your local legion and seeing if they have any pics or memorabilia to contribute.

There's also the armoury and the local reserve unit. I'm going to call them on Monday to see if they can help me out.
