So much for a sunny holiday weekend. Blah.
I've decided that I want a refund. Yes, I think I got a seriously defective body. I'm probably way past the warranty period but still...I spent much of yesterday making and confirming doctor's appointments again. Mainly follow-ups for stuff already being dealt with. I have to go and get my hearing tested, though. I knew it'd have to be done someday. Of course since it's me, it's nothing so simple as "Gee, I think I'm getting hard of hearing." (although I'm sure I am, and hearing loss runs in Mom's family so it wouldn't be completely unexpected).
Nope, I get oddball symptoms that might be hearing loss or could be related to my sinus stuffiness or could be something else all together. Grumble. I have episodes where my hearing cuts in and out like someone is hitting a mute button. Both ears for a second or so, then it's back. WTF?!? Each time it happens, I'm afraid my hearing's not coming back at all. I really, really hope it's related to the sinus thing. And I hope that this time, the ENT doc actually does something about it other than hand me some inhalers.
When playing the this or that question game, one of the common ones is "Would you rather lose your hearing or your sight?". The obvious answer is neither but in the spirit of the game, I always said hearing. Now that I'm worried about it, I'm a whole lot less sanguine about the prospect. Sheesh, my eyesight is already crumby. My sense of smell is blunted by the sinus thing. Taste is heavily affected by smell. So if my hearing starts failing, I'm down to one good sense.
My brother always said I didn't have any sense. ;)

lol @ your bro :D
That must suck though. I hope you can get it sorted out, Skryker. How will you hear the doggies barking at nothing? :(
;)
At least I won't hear them wrestling like wild things! ;)
I'm pretty sure that it will turn out to be sinus related. If it's the heredity thing, most of my relatives don't lose their hearing entirely and can use hearing aids until they are quite elderly.
I just don't want to leave it in case it's something that can be easily treated in an early stage, but not so easily treated later on. *blushes* I'd rather have the audiologist laugh and tell me to come back in 10 years than find out it's too late to do anything.
yeah, for sure. On the upside, if you do lose your hearing, at least you won't hear my whiney nasal voice anymore either. :D
:) But it's voices that I would miss most of all! Yes, yours, too. (hug)
