Had to scrape frost off of the car this morning, in the dark. And the dogs were perplexed by the white cold stuff on the grass. Miss Bronny seemed quite affronted to get cold feetsies while peeing.
I'll shiver here in the store for awhile yet. Too expensive to run the baseboard heaters. Plus, people coming in are in their coats. If they get too hot, they'll leave. So, I'll put on a sweater and huddle up rather than blast the heat. Brrrrrr!
Still feeling the effects of the vertigo attack last night. Hope it goes away soon. It's best if I sit perfectly still right now, but I have stuff to do. Maddening.
I think it says something good about my mood lately, though, that my first reaction to a diagnosis of a potentially very unpleasant condition is to fight back, not lay down and resign myself to my fate. So I will approach the naturopath with a combination of hope and cynicism. And I'll do my own research and make my own mind up about what he has to say.
Acupuncture-yes. Vitamin and mineral supplements-yes. Massage therapy-ok. Herbal remedies-after I check into them. Detox routine-depends. Elimination diet-ok. Chelation therapy-probably not.
I want to keep an open mind, but not so open my brains fall out. And I most assuredly don't want to do anything to screw up my health even more!

Somehow, naturopaths make me think of Guru Saj from Friends (Kevin MacDonald?). Or when George turned into a blueberry on Seinfeld. :D
Funny how the alternatives for "naturopaths" in the spell checker are sociopaths, psychopaths and osteopaths.. lol
I know!
This is one of the places where the pagan and the scientist in me clash hard. I want to believe...but I need empirical evidence, lol!
I haven't done the 8 on 8 thing yet. I'm a slacker. Don't hate me.
I think the real question is, "how were the cookies?"
Hope you feel better soon..
When you do glean the empirical evidence, I'd love to hear about it: does acupuncture really work? massages are a temporary balm, but what about herbal remedies? i mean what did people use before the advent of modern science and meds... hmm. Definitely interesting.
sending you a virtual hot choc to warm you up! :-)
matt-I don't hate you. I only managed to get my hubby to do his 8 about 8 this morning. But get cracking, lol!
rs-the cookies were great! Very satisfying.
td-thanks for the virtual hc. I think herbals can work fine; I just want to be sure they do what's claimed and what the potential side effects are. My Mom goes to an acupuncturist for pain management, and it works well for her. We'll see.
"i mean what did people use before the advent of modern science and meds"
hehe, they just died is all. :D
Vertigo... eeks! My dad had a random vertigo attack a few years ago and it really shook him up for a while. He's an electrician so I think the fear of having one while on a ladder or with his hands handling electrical wires freaked him out a good bit. You're so brave for taking this head on and continuing to move forward. I do hope that it doesn't happen again though. My dad's been lucky thus far, I hope you will be too.
Thanks, daszzle. It is really freaky when you start spinning while being still. I'm afraid of it happening while driving.
Oh my God no kidding. It's sort of like being epileptic in that way I suppose. I just hope they can give you the right cocktail to make you feel yourself yet unafraid of another attack. Cheers to that!
Cheers and some crossed fingers!
