Are you sure it's not Friday?

I was certain it was when I got up this morning. Had to be! Alas, it's only Thursday.

Seems like this week is dragging on and on. Ah well. Happens that way sometimes.

After doing well for a few weeks I seem to be back in a bit of a slump again. Big difference this time-I know it won't last. That's a huge relief. I haven't been sleeping very well this week and that profoundly affects my mood. It sucks that I can't run on 4 hours of sleep anymore. Lol-I'm getting old!

I feel it today more than normal. Usually I'm not bothered by aging much. I stopped paying much attention to the numbers after 25. Once in awhile, though, it'll hit me hard.

Today, it was something on the radio that got me-the host mentioned the movie Top Gun, how it was so great when it came out, he made a point of going to the best theatre to see it, but now it's just stupid. Well, I thought it was stupid at the time to be honest. It had a couple of good lines and some studly men playing beach volleyball while shirtless. Otherwise, meh.

Anyhow, I was thinking about it, and remembering how it was everywhere that summer. The music, the commercials, the sudden fascination with fighter planes...it was all so clear. And then I realized that I was thinking of a summer from over twenty years ago now. Ouch!!!!!

Yes, there it is, gentle readers. I was in high school, I was a teenager 20 years ago. LOL! I've had my tattoo for 19 years. Well, 19.5. Had my driver's licence for 20 years-and I got it when I was 16. Holy shit! I've been driving for over 20 years now, if you count the learner's permit.

On the plus side, in 20 years of driving I've never been in a serious accident, and the only minor one was when someone rear ended me. Not my fault! :)

So earlier? When I was complaining about time moving slowly? Ignore that! It moves pretty quickly after all.

he he - i'm totally with you on being a teenager in the 80's... c'mon admit it: we had the best music and the worst hairstyles! *grin*

Oh, yeah! Bad hair, bad makeup but great music.

I look at the composite picture for my HS grad class and wonder how people explain the three foot halo of blue hair to their kids, lol! Or why they thought that dead white foundation, thick black eye liner and blood red lips looked so good.

Dang I pegged you at 21 years old. You just seem so young, hot, and fully of youthfulness. But what do I know? I'm merely a child myself.

LOL! Thanks, matt! That made my day.

I think you must have missed the posts about my teenaged daughter, though, if you pegged me at 21. ;)

Skryker gets around... And early! lol

I've had my drivers for 11 years now. And I find that freaky.

I hate it when people say "you're only as old as you feel." I'm sooooo old. lol

Today, I'm about 268 years old, if I'm as old as I feel.

Most days, I'm about 12. :D

To dramatically illustrate how long I've been driving, to celebrate getting my license, my friend and I went to dinner and to see "The Running Man" at the theater. :O

Oh, I just blasted "Sublime" on my cheap speakers. lol I was too poor to actually go anywhere. :D

LOL, since I was a teenager, I didn't have any bills so I could go out once in a while.

And I lied. We went to see "The Lost Boys".

The Running Man was after that, the night my niece was born. I really should remember that because we got food poisoning. Great thing to have tied to a birth, eh? ;)

I was lucky enough to be one of 2 teenage girls on a street full of small children, so babysitting money was around!

And at a premium, too! Especially New Year's Eve. ;)
